"Outdoor Movie Night"

"The Sandlot"

OH THE FUNDRAISING!! It is fun, fun, fun....but it is also hard, hard, hard......
This next weekend, June 4th, we're having a "Movie on the Lawn" at Heather and Mike's as one of our fundraisers.
We'll be showing the classic, "The Sandlot". For $5 per person or $15 per family you can have a fun inexpensive night out and help us reach our fundraising goal.
We're inviting friends, family and friends of those friends and family. We'll be selling popcorn, redvines, classic coke, water bottless, beer and maybe a few other goodies too.
Would you like to join us?
I'll let you know how it went when it's all done :)

Happy Birthday Tommy!

Today is "My Big Boy's" birthday and as I sit here and sob like a baby remembering him as a part of me in my womb, as a born baby, a toddler, little boy, young man then grown, I can't get over how precious this soul is. I am truly blessed to be your mom "My Beautiful Blue Eyed Boy"! I love you with all my heart.

"I Know not how to part, with tolerable ease, from the little creature."
Mary Rowlands 1635-1678

My prayer for you Tom Tom....
Ye shall walk in all the ways which the LORD your God hath commanded you, that ye may live, and that it may be well with you, and that ye may prolong your days in the land which ye shall possess.
Deuteronomy 5:33

Bobbie Days :)

I love my "Bobbie Days"!  I've been enjoying them since Clayton was a baby. He's almost 9, that's just sick.... So far 3 of my 4 grand kids has had 1 day a week for most of their young life till school starts. Scouty's the only one that hasn't gotten them consistently but he will this fall :) Yay Scouty Pants!
I'm so blessed to have these days.  I wouldn't trade them for the world.  Right now Greggy is into "Chicken Samich". He only gets it at Bobbie's house.  It's canned chicken, mayo and craisins on saltines.  Manna from Heaven to him!! I love it that he loves it cause he's a tricky one to feed with the Galatocemia issues.

Check out the "new do"!  You can always tell summer is here by the boys haircuts!!
Isn't he cute??

Have any of you ever done any canning? I have once with Heather a long time ago but it still scares me to death for some reason.
I just recently started following this blog She is a local girl who is featuring a canning giveaway this month and it has encouraged me to try again :) I would love to be the winner of the giveaway but even if I'm not, I'm going to give it another go!
Let me know if you're interested in joining me. I would love the encouragement!

All Done!

This was a fun experience for the most part. After at least 3 trips to Loew's for paint, endless reading of other blogs for their ideas and tips, a new hand held sander ( a present for me from me ), lots of Advil....OH!  and throw in a trip to the doctor for a tetnus shot because I drove a screwdriver into my other hand when I couldn't pry a paint can open, it's all done. I decided not to add up the $$ signs. I probably could have bought a new dresser but it wouldn't have entertained me for so long!!

In the Mean Time...

 My Mama

It's almost Mother's Day and I have so many thoughts of my mama.
My first one is, never judge your mother till you've become the age she was and in the postion she was in before you slam down that gavel. Whoa! I'm a whimp.
Next, she had 6, yes, 6 kids!!! WHOA again. I have 3 :) I like 3 :) :)
You knew she wasn't going to run away. That didn't really sink in with me until I was an adult and saw how many people ran away and how it affected me.
She loved to garden and grow flowers. We always had something growing in a weird random place if she couldn't have a real garden.
We could always have a real pet. Anything from a bird to a horse. It depended on where we lived at the time.
Her love for me I never doubted. I didn't like her lots of times but I always and will forever love her.

My First Refinishing Project

This was a four drawer dresser that we bought at a yard sale for our daughter Heather when she was little & I have no idea how old it is. I found blue paint under the multiple layers of white that we had on it. I'll be back with the finished project in a few days ( I hope ) :)
