"Summers in France"
I was browsing through one of my favorite blogs "Boho Farm and Home" and Caroline recommended this book.
I'm excited to start reading it.
Has anyone read it or would like to read it with me?

Remember Home Ec? Yes? No?

We learned things like this...

I think those days are gone but I would like to try to keep some tradition alive. I hope to teach this table setting (I borrowed this diagram from http://www.dinner-party-menu-ideas.com/table-setting-diagram.html thank you ;) ) to my granddaughter.
It's funny, how many of us have all of those pieces to our dishes anyway? The bottom one is a little over the top and takes up a lot of space ;)   But if you ever want to set a "formal" table that's how it's done!
I hope you're all enjoying this beautiful Christmas Season!
Thanks for visiting ;)

Cloche Love

FYI:

cloche[klohsh, klawsh]

noun
1. a woman's close-fitting hat with a deep, bell-shaped crown and often a narrow, turned-down brim.
2.a bell-shaped glass cover placed over a plant to protect it from frost and to force its growth.
3. a bell-shaped metal or glass cover placed over a plate to keep food warm or fresh.
I have a new love for these old fashioned beauties. Thought I would share some of my findings. A few of them are in my possession and the rest are just ones that I covet.
Not mine

Not mine either (available at "The Secret Village")
Maybe someday...
(Umm, Santa?)

Picture is from Midwest Living
So, here's the thing, I want to use them in my Christmas decor. This one is inspiration. Pretty Little Birdy :)

This little cutie is mine and so are the following....
I'm hoping to use them all. I'll post pics when I'm done!
Thanks for visiting!
