Empty Nest Stories/Let's Give 'em Something To Talk About!

So were you a young married couple like us that started their family before we were "real grown up" ?
My husband and I did NOT have a shotgun wedding but we did start early ;)
I am very grateful we did but sometimes it feels weird like we did something wrong.
I decided a looooong time ago not to worry about what other people think and focus on what is good and right for us.
Well meaning people make comments like "Wow! you were so young!" My response was, and always has been, "ya, I like it like that". That is no lie.  I look back and think, I really wouldn't change a thing.
I love the fact that we didn't waste time playing around. Ugh! We did enough stupid stuff in high school to not keep it up into adulthood.

1 Corinthians 13:11:
11When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

We came to know The Lord personally together as a couple when we were young parents.  I am forever grateful for the special way it all happened.  I will post that another time ;)
Anyway, NOW we are grandparents. YOUNG grandparents, I might add! Life is fast & full!
We like to tell "Bobbie & Poppy Stories" when the G'kids spend the night.  We use real life experiences (edited of course), stuff that happened to us, good and bad that made a memory for us.  Sometimes they're funny but not always.  We even tell them over again.  It's funny how they're never tired of them. Most times we have to peel them off, convince them that we will tell them more next time.
My parents are gone, my husband just lost his dad so now we are orphans.  I miss those opportunities to talk to my mom & dad, for them to share their stories.  It hasn't truly sunk in but I'm trying not to fixate on that fact but on what I have ahead.  I know I'll see my parents again because they loved Jesus too :)
I hope to share more stories, to have fun with my adult kids, their kids and what life has to offer.  So, try not to fret too much about "what to talk about".  Just talk and see it as life. Life is experience and experience shared IS life.

The Lord has taught me much, mostly when I wasn't listening :/ Hindsight has a lot of wisdom in it!!
I look forward to making more memories for stories, especially for those impromptu story times.
AND... I'm REALLY looking forward to their stories. I know they are going to be even more fabulous! ;)

Thanks for visiting!!
